METEORITE, SCHMETERIORITE.
Grade 8:
1. We are running for the Terry Fox fundraiser next Tuesday, so this means please make sure your child is dressed for the weather on that day. Secondly, if you would like to make a donation, please send it with your child. Money will be accepted until next Friday.
2. Math: we just about finished the homework for 9.5 (division of positive and negative integers). Ask your child the following: "What is the rule when dividing positive and negative integers? How do we know what the sign will be?"
3. English: I modelled a lit. log (literature log) today in class, and each student was given a copy to keep. These log entries are the basis for reading response in class.
4. Still waiting for some forms, and agenda/arts money...I have written the names of the students owing on the board as a gentle reminder. Please send this in as quick as possible.
5. HPV forms for girls came home today. Take a look at the information contained within and hand it back signed if you would like for your daughter to have the vaccination.
6. An unusual request: If you have a copy of the game "Scrabble" at home, and you don't mind sending it in with your child, please do so for Monday. We are going to read a story that involves Scrabble, and I would like to have several copies of the game in class so the students can play it. Thanks!
Grade 7:
1. I didn't see your kids today as they were participating in the Arts Program: "Aussie X". I look forward to seeing them on Monday.
2. Literature Logs: see item 3 above (I wrote a sample yesterday).
